Woodwinds at spotlight
The dynamic in the Woodwind section is a fundamental element regardless of the period or style of the piece. In modern or contemporary music, the dynamic element is taken to a strategic level and many times, together with the timbre, it occupies a preponderant place in the performance of the work. Knowing how to manage the respiratory system, the air emission, and the muscles of the embouchure is essential to achieve a wide and stable dynamic range. Developing this technical aspect is usually a bit complicated and many students will need our help to achieve a good performing.
It is also important to know the limitations and behavior of each instrument when performing crescendos and diminuendos, how the pitch behaves if we blow too hard or how playing a piano without adequate abdominal support affects the pitch, all this can be spotted by a trained instructor and can provide the necessary tools to correct such problems.
