Dedicada al “Ensamble tres”, esta pequeña suite es mi primera obra para esta conformación de ensamble. Siguiendo siempre la premisa de usar los ritmos venezolanos para desarrollar un discurso musical que vaya más allá del mero tradicionalismo e incursione en la estética modernista, sin llegar a abordar del todo la experimentación y la vanguardia, Así se nos presenta esta suite en tres movimientos. Escrito en 5/8 el primer movimiento nos ofrece importantes retos rítmicos para los solistas. El Segundo es una juego melódico con los timbres del ensamble en una remembranza de un poema del poeta peruano Cesar Vallejo. En el tercero como suelo escribir es el Joropo el que domina el panorama salpicado con algo de música de nuestra costa intentando un toque de tambor heredado del africa y tan presente en nuestras costas venezolanas.

Dedicated to “Ensemble three”, this small suite is my first work for this assembly conformation. Always following the premise of using Venezuelan rhythms to develop a musical discourse that goes beyond mere traditionalism and ventures into modernist aesthetics, without fully addressing the experimentation and the avant-garde. This suite is presented in three movements. Written in 5/8 the first movement offers us important rhythmic challenges for the soloists. The second is a melodic game with the timbres of the ensemble in a remembrance of a poem by the Peruvian poet Cesar Vallejo. In the third as I usually write is the Joropo that dominates the panorama dotted with some music from our coast trying a drum beat inherited from Africa and so present in our Venezuelan coasts.
